Happy Paws Vet Clinic in Airdrie, AB is seeking a Clinic Manager to join our team and lead the charge in fostering a positive and efficient work environment. We are an independently owned practice that works as a general practice for dogs and cats. As the Clinic Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth functioning, staff development, and exceptional client experiences.

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Coaching
Lead by example on the floor, actively engaging with the team and providing coaching and support. Highlighting our core values and implement an encouragement-focused approach while being prepared to not shy away from difficult conversations if needed.

Hands-On Involvement
Not confined to the office, you’ll be ready to roll up your sleeves and jump in wherever needed, whether it’s assisting with procedures, handling client inquiries, or supporting the team during busy periods.

Collaborative Team Management
Work closely with clinic owners and team leads to cohesively manage and execute strategic initiatives, fostering a culture of collaboration and alignment towards shared goals.

Maintaining a positive culture
Fostering a harmonious and supportive team environment, mediating interpersonal conflicts directly with the persons involved.

Team Management
Conduct team meetings and facilitate staff reviews, and oversee hiring and onboarding processes.

Scheduling
Maintain efficient scheduling to optimize workflow and ensure adequate coverage.

Event Coordination
Assist with organizing and executing special events, fostering a sense of community within the clinic and beyond.

Compliance
Stay abreast of ABVMA and OSHA regulations and ensure clinic compliance with relevant standards.

Client Relations
Handle client complaints with empathy and professionalism, balancing the interests of the clinic and the clients.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in veterinary clinic management or leadership.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with a coaching mindset.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Hiring experience and familiarity with onboarding processes.
  • Positive outlook with a desire to innovate and improve veterinary medicine practices.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to remain composed under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a knack for giving constructive feedback.
  • Understanding self and willingness to admit mistakes and show vulnerability.
  • Prioritization of people over tasks, with empathy and compassion at the forefront.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in veterinary medicine, including general practice.
  • RVT with active membership an asset.
  • Previous management or leadership experience.
  • Bonus if familiar with formal communication training.
  • Competency with technology.
  • Willingness to lend a hand and collaborate with the team.
