Aftercare and Memorial Options
Selecting your Pet’s Aftercare and Memorial Pieces
Choosing how to honor your pet’s memory is an important part of the decision-making process, whether your pet passes away naturally or through euthanasia. We understand that navigating through all the available options can be overwhelming, which is why we’re here to guide you through this difficult time.
Memorial Options
- Aftercare Options: After your pet passes, one of the crucial decisions you’ll face is what to do with their body. Cremation is the most common choice, and there are two types available: communal and private. In communal cremation, your pet will be cremated alongside other pets, and you won’t receive their ashes back. On the other hand, private cremation ensures that your pet is cremated individually, and you’ll have the option to receive their ashes.
- Our Trusted Partner: At Happy Paws Vet Clinic, we work closely with Gateway (https://www.gatewaypetmemorial.com/memorial-products-alberta/) , a trusted and highly respectful company for aftercare and pet memorial needs. With a private cremation, you’ll have the option to select from three types of containers for the ashes: a cedar latch urn, a decorative metal urn, or a scattering tube, all of which are displayed in the top row of the following page. Additionally, for an additional fee, you can choose from a variety of other urns or containers.
- Memorial Options: In addition to ashes, we offer a range of memorial items to honor your pet’s memory. Our selection includes beautiful ceramic paw prints, ranging from classic memorial clay paw prints to customized color combinations that reflect your pet’s personality. These paw prints come in a stunning black case, which can also hold a cherished photo of your pet.
- Complimentary Ink Paw Print:As a token of our sympathy during this difficult time, we offer a complimentary ink paw print or nose print. We understand that not everyone may wish to have memorial items, so we provide you with the option to decline this gesture as well. At Happy Paws Vet Clinic, we’re here to support you through every step of the grieving process. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or if there’s anything we can do to assist you during this challenging time.
